____________

0 in 4 Project: Putting violence against women in a museum
Project

Purpose of this project is to actualize some of the
strategic visions developed from the 1 in 4 Project.

1) Revise the Sexual Assault Protocol
Activity: Revise the sexual assault protocol that
addresses the needs of recent and past sexual assault/abuse
survivors. Host three training days throughout Leeds &
Grenville on the use of the protocol.

Update: Ev Dales put together a job description and
advertised for the position of Consultant as it relates to
the revision of the Sexual Assault Protocol. Interviews
were held this past week with a goal of having someone in
place shortly.

Family Court and Criminal Court for victims and service

December 19th, 2007 at the Royal Brock Hotel, in
Brockville. At this time Pam Cross will be presenting in
the morning and we will have a panel of experts for the

Still plenty of details to sort out and as always our goal
is to bring you a content rich, high quality workshop.

3) Youth Summits

Activity: Host two, one day summits with youth to elict
youth input on their strategies to end violence against
women and to engage them in the peace building process.
This will identify service gaps and provide youth with
access to referral information.

Update: At this time Barb Lotan, Dave Heater, Ev Dales,
Lisa Fleming and myself had our first planning meeting to
flesh out this activity.

Using an Appreciative Inquiry / Open Space approach we will
invite students to dialogue, and answer the question of
'Violence Against Women: Who's problem is it anyway?'

Through networking our we will ask each high school in
Lanark, Leeds & Grenville to identify 2 male and 2 female
students in grades 9 through 11 who would be challenged by
the discussion and stimulated to work towards solutions.

We are hoping for participation from 60 students, with the
first day set for Nov/Dec and the follow-up day set for
February.

Interested in working on this? Let me know!

4) Youth Web page
Activity: Design and publish a youth friendly/accessible
web page as part of the victiminfo.ca site.

staying safe on the net.

As part of the planning work they are reaching out to the
community and having subject matter experts come talk to
them. This coming week I will be meeting with them to
share where this project came from and clarify
expectations. As well, Tom Riel of the Brockville Police
